Don’t like history? That’s fine, just throw everything out and rewrite it until it says what you want.

Representative Lashawn K. Ford, of the failed state of Illinois, has called for the immediate suspension of history classes until a “suitable alternative” is developed.
As with most instances of liberal lunacy this story highlights multiple flaws in the leftist mindset. At the surface level we can see another overpaid bureaucrat who, rather than doing anything practical or useful, is focusing his energy calling for actions that will earn him brownie points with his supporters. Of course, pandering isn’t exclusive to the left by any means, but in a state like Illinois, with Chicago and its astronomical murder rate, it’s shameful that a representative would waste time on revisionism rather than fixing the very real and immediate problems at hand.
The more pernicious aspect of this is the Left’s desire to erase history and remold it into whatever fits their narrative. Book burning and information suppression is nothing new for the left. If you need examples you’ll find them in China, Cuba, Venezuela, and other communist/socialist hellscapes.
The liberal’s goal of revising or erasing history is very much akin to the way they modify language to distort reality. They are well aware that changing how the world is perceived, through language and history, they can create conditions suitable to forcing their insanity on others. Worse still, it’s a direct avenue for influencing children through state-run schools.
One could make a reasonable argument that recorded history is flawed because of the loss of documents and records over time, or some events not being recorded at all. The solution to this problem, however, is not to throw out all current materials. Instead make more information available and allow students time to discover it on their own. Don’t count on any lefties to consider such an idea though – it would undermine their efforts to distort reality.
